Open Question: I got drunk at a party, I am only 14!?

So hey, I am 14 years old and my name is Courtney. This girl I really don't like named Jane invited me to her party last night. She asked me to come early because she was making all of the food herself and she wanted help. OK.... I went. She made me come at 5:00 two hours before the actual party. She was making pizza and lasagna and cupcakes and salad, and mini burgers and fajitas. HOW IS SHE GOING TO DO IT ALL in 2 hours!?!?! She already bought a lasagna and we just had to cook it so I put it in the oven. It would take two hours to cook. I was like ok Jane what do you want me to do? She said make the cup cakes. Then she takes out like 3 cupcake trays and says I need to make 200 cupcakes. WTF! I told her I am leaving and she said she will give me twenty dollars if I help her. So I decided to stay. She already made the icing and I made the cupcakes and put them in the oven. Then I pulled them out and I decorated 200 cupcakes and put sprinkles on them. Then I tried one and they were soooooooooooooo delicious. I asked her what is in the icing and she said She PUT RED WINE IN IT!!!!!! She is getting these recipes from her moms books or something. Then she told me to help her make these mini fajitas. When we were frying the chicken she poured vodka in it!!!!!!!!!!!! She said it adds flavor (MORON!) Then the lasagna was done and I took it out and put it in the table and cut it up. The hamburgers were ready made and all you have to do is fry the patties and then put them in the bun. So she opens the freezer and takes out 4 BOXES OF MINI PATTIES! And she made me cook all of them. Then I had to put 50 patties in the buns. Then I had to open them all up again and put ketchup and mustard inside. Ok a lot of people started coming inside now. She took out this huge bowl and threw lettuce and tomoates and onions and a ton of other crap in there and she is like this is the salad. I opened the fridge and there was cesar and french dressing inside. I asked her what one she wants. She said she is going to make one. So she opens her her moms recipe book inside and she goes to this salad dressing page. She pours vodka into the salad (A LOT) and then in a separate bowl she mixes in lemon and other stuff. Then she puts it into the salad. IT actually looked good. The pizza was in the oven too. YEAH WHEN IT WAS DONE SHE SAID SHE COVERED THE BAKING TRAY WITH VODKA SO THE ENTIRE PIZZA WAS COVERED WITH VODKA NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MORON! And she put 80 cups on the table (she invited almost 100 people! the party was inside and outside) And she poured vodka into each cup and then poured coke and pepsi into them. And she also put ice cream into some of the cups (vodka coke float she calls it) I wasnt eating anything but everyone else was and they were REALLY enjoying it. I asked Jane if I can still get drunk and she said that she only put a little inside and it makes it taste better and also when u cook it u cant get drunk. I WAS STARVING! So I grabbed a plate and I put a fajita on it, a mini burger, and a slice of pizza. Then I grabbed one of her vodka ice cream coke floats and I went out to the backyard and ate. I was still starving and no one really ate the lasagna so I took two slices and put hot sauce on it and I took some of the salad and another drink. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. But I did feel a little drunk so I left and this morning I have a headache and I feel really hungry. So I took an advil and I ordered a pizza (I am staying home alome cuz my parents are on a business trip) Was it dangerous for me to get drunk like that and also can you really get drunk from the food even though she put vodka in it then cooked it? more

Open Question: i need some help with this recipe i'm thinking of doing..?

lols. You may have seen me- i'm the one who's asking for recipes for a school project. But don't stop answering that question please, the recipe i'm thinking of is put into consideration like all the other suggestions your gave me on the other question. Anyway. I had this pasta at this restuarant called "GC" aka Golden City somehwere in victoria, australia. And it was so good. It had like chicken, spinach, avocado, onions and a garlic-creamy-sauce containing white wine (as the menu described it). here's more details: The chicken, spinach and avocado's not really part of the sauce. They probably threw it in in the middle of cooking the pasta and the creamy garlic sauce with wine. they added a little wine to prevent us from getting sick of the creamy and thick taste and texture. (i hope 'sick' is the right word) the chicken was pretty tender, and spinach was super soft. Onions were a little crunchy, but pretty soft. The avocado was in little cube sizes, and were very soft, so much so your tongue could just squeeze it and it digests in your mouth. i could tell that all the ingredients in the dish had enough time with the sauce that they were carrying the taste individually, you can taste the sauce without even trying the sauce, and just the chicken. thats about all the information i can give you. Now, the tricky part- anyone has a rough idea on how to cook the dish? heehee. I have no idea, but i'm really interested in trying this dish out. help appreciated. more

Open Question: How to make a very good fried rice that is flavoursome?

How do you make a good fried rice that is very flavoursome like that of a restaurant. In my recipe I used chinese sausage and garlic and heat that up with oil first so that the flavour comes out as a start. Then I pour 2 eggs and mix it around for a bit and pour in the rice and stir it around then I poured the prawns and the frozen vegetables into the rice. I sprayed 2 spoons of chicken stock into the rice then I drippled some fragrant sesame oil and just wait for a while. But it didn't really taste that flavoursome. Any improvements or suggestions or recipes? more

Open Question: Help - looking for good southern cooking recipe sites?

I live in Australia but originally I'm from Arkansas. We left when I was little but my mother still cooks "down home" southern style recipes like biscuits and cornbread, pork & beans, chicken and dressing for thanksgiving, etc. She has a good collection of recipe books from Baptist ladies' groups and some of it is just from her head. Well 6 mths ago she moved to NZ and I forgot to get any of her books before she left, and there is so much on internet I am not sure what I'm looking at sometimes. Anybody know any good websites that have a whole bunch of American southern style recipes on them, or websites for southern cooking in general? Thanks! :) more

Open Question: Does anyone know any really good, yet healthy chicken recipes?

I'm looking for some yummy chicken recipes, that leave the chicken super juicy, but are still healthy for you...can you help? This addition is to those of you who CHOOSE to not eat meat. That is your choice, and you have right to it, as I have a right to choose to eat meat. You may bash me, whatever, your opinion is a moot point, and putting in accusation form does not sway my opinion. Nor does it make me take your opinion seriously, because that is childish, and immature. Maybe if you approached me in a calm, more informative way I'd be more inclined to listen? Oh yeah...that makes sense...lol more

Open Question: High calorie foods that I can force feed my cat?

My cat is very underweight. He is a chocolate point Siamese who used to weigh about 17 lbs (he was overweight then) and now he weighs about 8 lbs. An average male, adult CP Siamese weighs about 10-15 lbs. He stopped eating a few months back and now I've been force feeding him Gerber Baby Food in chicken, turkey and beef flavors. He's been suffering from constipation so I also give him squash and peas. He is doing a little bit better but I am not too pleased with the progress he's been making. Does anyone know of foods in baby food/liquidy form that are extra high in fat and calories they must be in meat or vegetable flavors. Also could you please tell me where I could buy some. Or even could someone give me a recipe of something I could cook for him? Thanks. more

Open Question: Some substitutes for meat-main dish at dinner?

I'm trying to get my family to eat healthier, me especially. Although I am not a vegetarian, I would prefer to cut meat out of our diets a little more, right now dinner revolves around it, and I think it would be much healthier to cut that down to just 3 times a week or at least not make it the center of attention. I can only make salad with bits of chicken and vegetarian lasagna so many times :o) Can anyone give me some ideas or point me in the direction of some EASY, quick recipes where meat is either not included, or in small amounts? FYI (and this is important) my husband is 100% carnivore, and he still thinks my lasagna has meat in it. Light meals don't cut it, he'll be rummaging in the cupboards less than an hour after dinner if we eat "light". Thanks! more

Open Question: Simple and Delicious Recipes for a Family Reunion?

Our family reunion is coming up (very informal affair...similar to a cook-out) and though I'm not required to bring a dish, I would like to. Can anyone suggest some dishes (include recipes, please)? Some things others usually bring are ham biscuits, chicken salad, various salads: potato, macaroni, etc. I'm trying to avoid a dessert dish since all the little old ladies bring pies, etc. Possibly something a little unique but delicious, simple to make and with easy to find, inexpensive ingredients. Thanks! Last year I made a crab dip (served hot or cold), a strawberry/pretzel dessert and these yummy mexican tortilla roll-ups. more

Open Question: Pasta Sauce Recipes.?

(If you don't feel like reading a little background just skip to the bottom) My parents are away until Sunday, so it's just the kids on their own.....And I'm the only one who can cook. So I've been assigned dinner duty. However, unfortunately, my younger brother won't eat much of anything. He'll eat pizza, tacos, mashed potatoes, steak, hamburgers, french fries, or chicken. He also likes seafood, surprisingly. My older sisters want some sort of a pasta tonight, and I don't want a plain tomato sauce....we never have anything other than marinara because my mom doesn't like anything else but that. So, getting to the actual question (Sorry I'm so long winded!) I need a recipe other than marinara sauce for some pasta. I'm planning on using a penne pasta (Younger brother won't eat any long noodles, just don't ask, he's weird) I want to throw in some chicken...or sausage....we also have some crab meat in the refrigerator. So I don't know if that could be worked in. I doubt very highly if I just throw some sausage, and chicken, and crab in there all together it will be very good. Would making an alfredo sauce work, then just adding some cooked chicken, or crab or sausage? more

Resolved Question: Need cooking tips on Israeli Sephardic cooking..?

I presently live in Israel, and I just love the Kibbuts-/Army-style food (meat or fish with 2 other items). I mean, it's simple but hearty. I especially love the simple sauce they bake chicken cutlets in. I have many sephardic cooking books and asked around for recipes or the right spices - all I've come up with is basically chicken (or other meat), oil, onion, salt/pepper, tomato sauce, spices like cumin, turmeric, paprika as the most comonly used. I've tried and improvised, but it's NOT the same! Is it the method of cooking or combining the right amount of spices? Another thing, I LOVE rice. How do you make light and fluffy rice? more

Resolved Question: Vegan dog food, does anyone know...?

I think I'm ready to switch my dogs from a raw BARF diet ( Chicken, finely ground chicken bone, beef liver, whole egg, cultured kefir, seasonal vegetables selected from broccoli, celery, spinach, carrot, ground flax seed, bok choy, dried alfalfa leaf powder, beef kidney, beef heart, unbleached beef tripe, apple, pear, grapefruit, orange, dried kelp powder, garlic, capsicum) to a vegan diet. BUT I've got a some criteria. 1. It has to be a home made recipe since I don't like feeding processed foods or feeding grains to dogs since it's unnatural for them to eat grains). 2. As above no grains. Now if anyone has a recipe on how to make a wholesome vegan dog food I'd be very interested since previous attempts have caused my dogs to lose too much weight and when I've got rescues they can' afford to lose weight. Thank you. more

Open Question: How do I cook thin-cut pork chops without drying them out?

Open Question: OMG i'm so excited i found it?

I found arborio rice in a local super market today, I have been looking every were for it. (for those of you who don't know it's rice you make risotto out of) i'm going to make some homemade chicken stock tomorrow and then i will sate some shallots in a little bit of butter then toast my rice, until it turns translucent around the edges, add a half a cup of white wine (pinot grigio) and then very lovingly add a little bit of chicken stock at a time to achieve the wonder full creamy texture risotto is famous for then at the very end i will add the juice, and zest of half a lemon, and some fresh parmesan cheese (YUMMY) i have never made risotto before, i have read about it and it sounds dreamy so if you have had risotto either homemade or from a restaurant can you tell me how it was, and tell me what you think about my recipe Thanks more
